At Connor Ranch, we know that recovery isn't easy. If
it were, you wouldn't be here right now!
Connor
Ranch has 3 Locations in beautiful Orange County, California. Each
Sober Living home is designed with your recovery in mind.
All
of our Connor Ranch Sober Living homes have amenities galore and
"Creature Comforts" not found in other help facilities.
As
you know, Recovery is difficult enough. At Connor Ranch, we don't
think it Should be Boring too!
We help give you
every opportunity for a successful recovery by creating a communal
atmosphere, and allowing you the freedom to learn how to
function in society while confronting your addiciton.
We aren't
"Baby-Sitters" or "Parole Officers" but we are here
for you and are willing to help.
Recovery isn't something we
can do for you.. at Connor Ranch you will find the support
you need to help you overcome your addiction. Both long and short
term.
We don't subscribe to the "Country Club" theory..
we know that this isn't fun & games.. this is your life and we are
concerned about your recovery.
We have mandatory
house meetings, mandatory counseling sessions & mandatory outside
(AA, NA, CA, AL-ANON) meetings.
Ultimately,
only you are responsible for your recovery. Connor Ranch, our staff,
members & guests will help you by providing the tools
and encouragement.

Addiction
Craving
A
powerful, often uncontrollable desire for drugs.
Detoxification
A process that allows
the body to rid itself of a drug while at the same time
managing the individual's symptoms of withdrawal; often the first
step in a drug treatment program.
Physical Dependence
An adaptive physiological state
that can occur with regular drug use and results in
withdrawal when drug use is discontinued.
Polydrug
abuse
The abuse of two or more drugs at the same
time, such as CNS depressant abuse accompanied by abuse of alcohol.
Chemical Tolerance
A condition in
which higher doses of a drug are required to produce the same
effect as during initial use; often is associated with
physical dependence.
Toxic Dependence
The
body's dependence on substances which causing temporary or
permanent effects that are detrimental to the functioning of a
body organ or group of organs.
Withdrawal
A variety of symptoms that occur after use
of an addictive drug is reduced or stopped.
